I have made a special study of the piano works of Robert Schumann and these are often a feature of my solo recitals. Programmes are diverse, encompassing Bach, Beethoven, Schubert, and Chopin through to Debussy, Ravel, Hindemith and Stravinsky.

Chamber Music is an important area of my musical life. The Lauriston Trio, with violinist Caroline Tait and 'cellist Babette Lichtenstein was formed ten years ago and we have built a large repertoire of the major Classical, Romantic and 20th century works for the medium. We have recently expanded into the Lauriston Ensemble giving highly acclaimed performances of the Schumann Piano Quintet and works for clarinet and flute trio.

Working with Tom Emlyn Williams, tenor, we have a particular interest in German Lieder and English song, offering many varied and contrasting programmes. With Rebecca Bell, soprano, a broad range from Purcell to musical theatre is on offer.

Having played the piano from the age of three, I am able to trace my pedagogical roots back to Clara Wieck, wife of Robert Schumann. My prizewinning career at the Royal Academy of Music in London as a student of Robin Wood and Max Pirani led to concert performances throughout the UK, in USA and Europe, with appearances at the Wigmore Hall, Queen Elizabeth Hall and Purcell Room.

My CD of solo works by Schumann can be found at ClassicalRecording.com - Further projects include his other major works.
